Musings on Death

What is the formula
To measure our lifespan?
What is too young?
When is the right time to be gone?

Does lifestyle really matter?
How much we have or what we ran after?
What cares death for our aspirations?
Our achievements or can do hereafter?

Dreams and duties alike it ignores
We plead, but does it even know?
Even the young it does not spare
Of the old or famous, what does it care?

Death comes with no rhyme or reason
There is no occasion or season
Sometimes we have to wait a liftime
Sometimes there is no time for preparation

This minute is all we have
This breath our last one perhaps
Good or evil, we will be gone
There is no measure for our lifespan.
